Store termination

Shopify store terminated? Check the case before you appeal

A termination notice can involve very different issues. The fastest useful first step is to identify exactly what Shopify says happened and what evidence or remediation the notice asks for.

Analyze the notice free

Do not start with a generic appeal template

If your store was terminated, deactivated or made unavailable, use the exact email or admin notice. A copied “please restore my store” message may miss the reason under review and can make the response harder to evaluate.

What to check first

  • Does the notice identify a Terms of Service, Acceptable Use, payment-risk, identity or business-verification issue?
  • Is there an official appeal, review or document-submission link?
  • Are any deadlines stated?
  • Are your legal business details, bank/payment details and store information consistent?
  • Can you document product sourcing, fulfillment and customer support where relevant?

Build a clean evidence set

Gather only evidence that actually supports the facts in your case. Depending on the notice, that may include registration documents, supplier invoices, tracking, delivery history, refund handling, product authorization or an explanation of unusual account activity.

Do not create or alter documents to make the case look stronger. False or inconsistent evidence can turn a review problem into a credibility problem.

Explain corrective actions

If you identified a real issue, explain what changed. For example: misleading product language was removed, fulfillment delays were corrected, business details were updated, or a prohibited workflow was stopped. Be specific and factual.
