Shopify payout on hold? Check the review before you reply

First: identify the type of hold

Check the Shopify admin and the exact email for phrases such as account review, verification required, payouts paused, reserve, additional information required or an estimated review date. A payout schedule delay is not the same thing as a compliance or risk hold.

Verify the basics

• Legal business name, address and bank-account holder information are consistent.
• Requested identity or business documents were submitted through an official Shopify channel.
• Orders are fulfilled as represented and tracking is valid where applicable.
• Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are being handled.
• No unresolved banner or document request remains in Shopify Payments settings.

Keep one factual case history

Save the original notice, ticket references, dates, requested documents and what you submitted. When following up, ask whether the review is active and whether anything specific is missing instead of opening many conflicting explanations.

Before you send an appeal or reply

Make sure the message matches the actual review. If Shopify requested proof of fulfillment, do not send a generic identity explanation. If the issue is business verification, focus on matching legal and banking records. If there is a reserve, understand the stated reserve conditions before treating it as a termination.
